Secondly! Because I've been screwed over by supposed clients, I require full payment before I even consider showing you a sample of your commission (I usually show samples to make sure that what I'm drawing is the correct thing, what the client wants).
Samples will require payment also, as I work very hard on them and that keeps me safe from people who just want to see a sketch of an idea for free. I'd rather avoid having people take my style and choosing someone else to finish it for cheaper or free. That's not fair to me. So yes. The sketched-sample is as follows:
Whatever you are ordering will have two prices; first is the sketch-sample price, which will be taken from the pricing of that order as it would be were it a sketch, and then halved.
For instance: One full-body realism-anime CGed is $50. For a sample-sketch (which is just me sketching out your idea to put to paper what you're asking for), I would go and see what a full-body realism-anime SKETCH costs, which in this case is $30, and half that for the sake of the sample, which comes to $15.
So the sample sketch for a full-body realism-anime CGed is $15. Assuming you want to continue with my work until I provide a finished product, that finished product will on its own cost $50. So, in essence, you're really paying $65, unless you don't want the finished product and would prefer to move onto a different freelance artist once you've seen my interpretation of your idea.

JUST SOME RULES ABOUT THE ART YOU RECEIVE:
1: DO NOT TAKE BACK your commission request once you've paid for it. (Once paid for, commissions are nonrefundable. DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY KINDNESS.) If you can't afford my prices in the first place, you needn't commission me. If you complain about my commission prices, you always have the option of finding someone else. ^^
2: DO NOT REMOVE my signature.
3: I will place all commissions in my gallery, unless you request otherwise.
4: All artwork is copyrighted to me, except for your characters.
5: I reserve the right to decline drawing a commission, though I highly doubt I'll end up declining any. ^^ Though, I will NOT decline art once you have paid.
6: The more detailed your description of your characters, and the more reference pictures that you give me, the better I'll be able to portray what you want me to draw.
5: If you show it off to whoever, as in put it up on another website or in your own devART gallery, then I request full credit by mention of name. I.E: 'Tara-Lynn (kaiverta)'. ^_^ It's just fair.
7: DO NOT EDIT in any fashion. That includes changing of eye color, hair color, ANY color. You can only resize the art you get from me to print it out. You may NOT make a profit off of my art, aka gain money from selling items with my art on it. That's not nice.
HOWEVER! If you really do need something changed, ask me and I'll see what I can do.P.S.
I reserve the right to change the pricing how I see fit. HOWEVER, I will NOT change the pricing of a commission you have already confirmed to me, and pricing changes won't be drastic. That's simply unfair, and I'm not unfair. So yes. ^_^

Reminder: Portraits averagely go for around $180-$400 AUD for similar amounts of detail, so my prices are extremely cheap. In most cases, you'll be able to ask for the original sketch. They're only in pencil. All portrait prices are based on size 8x11. The smaller you go, the cheaper it will be.

(These are real animal drawings, usually from photo reference. I never practice them. Thus, they will be hard to draw and require much more effort and concentration. Prices will surely go down over time as I practice.)

((For fan art, because some games, anime, have very difficult and in-depth designs, they'll take me longer to do and THUS, will require more effort from moi. THUS, I shall add a little price to it. ._. The way it will go is as follows: If you're buying a full-body colored picture of, say, a normal version (not chibi) of Cloud Strife from FF7, you will add the price for a normal version colored picture to whatever the fanart plus-price is. FOR INSTANCE: Full-body= $70 dollars. Final Fantasy fanart has a +$20 beside it. THUS, For a full-body final fantasy fanart, you will be adding those two numbers and paying 90 AUSTRALIAN bucks. See?! BUT! Keep in mind that I will not be drawing the actual characters from the games or anime series'. That's illegal unless I'm given permission, and I don't have permission, so I'll only be drawing your Original Characters in the game or anime style of your choice.))

Also, what you pay for is a picture of your character, or whatever you choose me to draw, that gets electronically sent to you to be stored on your computer, at a size that's big enough for you to print. I have no original copies of colored pictures because those are digitally done, and I don't have money to send you all original copies of sketches. For me to do that, my prices would spike dramatically in order to compensate for lack of shipping money. So yes.
